Cosmic Events For May 2021

Cosmic Events May 2021

The second Mercury Retrograde of 2021 begins in Gemini on May 29 and ends on June 22.

The previous Retrograde in Gemini occurred in May of 2015. When Mercury is retrograde, try to remain flexible, patient, and understanding, allow extra time for travel, and avoid signing onto any new contracts that you’re unsure of. Double check your email responses and check in with reservations before you take that trip. But when it begins in Gemini that shows that during this time communication will be key. Be versatile at this time. What is most important during this time is the exchange of ideas and communication. It will be important to listen in all ways, meaning to others and yourself. You may be in your own thoughts more then usual, and you may be more curious about things. This may be a time when you might be a bit extra insecure. Try to be patient with others, yourself, and things you're working towards. So the main bits that you should remember for this Mercury Retrograde is to pay attention to mindfulness in the way you communicate with others and yourself.

Around May 6th and 7th there will be the Eta Aquarids Meteor Shower. The Eta Aquarids is an above average shower, capable of producing up to 60 meteors per hour at its peak. Most of the activity is seen in the Southern Hemisphere. In the Northern Hemisphere, the rate can reach about 30 meteors per hour. It is produced by dust particles left behind by comet Halley, which has been observed since ancient times. The shower runs annually from April 19 to May 28. It peaks this year on the night of May 6 and the morning of the May 7. The second quarter moon will block out some of the faintest meteors this year. But if you are patient, you should still should be able to catch quite a few good ones. Best viewing will be from a dark location after midnight. Meteors will radiate from the constellation Aquarius, but can appear anywhere in the sky. Meteor showers asks us all to tap into our own inner compass. To see beyond what our normal senses may express to us and tap into a reality that’s only visible when we believe in it, trust in it, and use it to have our greatest experience and thusly teaching others to do the same as well.

May 11 - New Moon. The New Moon is a great time to set your intentions, write down goals or begin new projects for the forthcoming cycle. In the darkness, the fertile ground, you plant the seeds of your heartfelt desires on the New Moon, consciously focusing your Mind/Body/Spirit on the ‘feeling’ of your desires.

May 26 - Full Moon, Supermoon. The energy of a Full Moon (influenced by the current Zodiac transit) is heightened and emotions, feelings, mental processes, dreams etc are all amplified. When the Sun & Moon oppose each other during a Full Moon, this can cause tension & uncomfortable friction, but at the same time a greater amplification of vision & potential possibility. The is a powerful time of gratitude, gracefully acknowledging the beauty of life itself and all you have brought into beingness. You may feel a burning desire to express your creativity, bliss out in sensual activities and through fierce yet profoundly tender vibrations let go of any aspects of your life that no longer serve the grandest vision of your Soul. Supermoons take place when the full moon is as close as it it’s going to come to the Earth for some time aka perigee. Basically it takes all the energies of the full moon and amplifies it!

May 26 - Total Lunar Eclipse. During this type of eclipse, the Moon will gradually get darker and then take on a rusty or blood red color. The eclipse will be visible throughout the Pacific Ocean and parts of eastern Asia, Japan, Australia, and western North America. Eclipses are harbingers of change and they usher in evolution. At a lunar eclipse, the shadow of the Earth falls across the face of the Moon bringing unconscious feelings to the surface, grounding them in reality. An eclipse has historically acted as a symbolic portal for exponential growth, a time of rapid change, internally and externally. The moon is associated with our subconscious desires and our emotional lives.

Throughout the month due to sunspot AR2822 there may be some extra solar flare activity. If you are more sensitive and intuitive, you may be feeling more sensitive with those abilities. Empaths can be highly affected by these energies at times. It is said that it brings with it an upgrade of your electromagnetic field, as this sunspot also activates very strong solar flares. This energy then helps root out anything that has been hiding in your subconscious that is of no service to your ongoing transformation. Solar activity is known to influence human consciousness. Solar flares affect the Central Nervous System, all brain activity, basically mental, emotional, physical responses. Those sensitive to these energies it may make one feel nervous, anxious, worried, jittery, dizzy, irritable, lethargic, exhausted, nauseous, and queasy. Some people may become unusually forgetful. People may also endure periods of prolonged head pressure and headaches. Some may have difficulty sleeping, tossing & turning in the night and often experiencing unusual dreams. Some may feel huge power surges in our bodies; these surges are often followed by a drop in energy level. The increased frequency and intensity of solar flares is helping to break apart old patterns that are no longer needed so that new patterns can emerge. If you tend to be sensitive to this type of solar activity try not to worry about it too much as your auric field and energy centers are being heightened. The more aware you are the more empowered will be to embrace this process. Ultimately this is about growth mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
